I'm sorry it didn't work. I wish others could get onto forum at least the same way I did, if not some easier way. Also, if it thinks it has mailed you it (it actually mails a reset link, not the password), have you checked mailbox, including spam?
In regards to requesting twice, I think server is checking that 24 hours passed between the two attempts, unless it checks for longer than that and the reply is misleading. Several days certainly passed between my registration and resetting the password for it, it may also be possible resetting can't be done within 24 hours of registering.
