Storyline: An evil wizard wants to rule the world, but knows that Dink will never bow for him.

Map and graphics: A nice title screen. The map is complex and decorated very nicely. Sometimes there are so many details, that it is a relief to be on a spot that has not that many details. There are many new graphics, which are real good. There are all kind of science fiction graphics, such as spaceships, teleporters and new backgrounds. New are also the pyramids and bridges, and some item icons.

Music: Nice music indeed.

Good: The intro scene is nicely done. The first part of the D-mod is well worked out. The transparent roof on top of the poles is very nice; you can walk underneath it and it will give nice shadows. The text that is said while talking to the spaceships is right out of Space Quest: that brings back some memories!

Not so good: The wizard in the house does not talk. I guess he is part of the storyline, since I could not do some other things. When entering a house I was warped to a screen with trees with no exit. Some parts of the map are not finished, although they are accessible. Even though the author could not finish the game, a few changes to that part would have been nice.

Overall: A good D-mod with a sort of ending.

Fit for: If you love science fiction, you will love this D-mod too.

This is Mike Snyder's second D-Mod. For one of the first, it has a few interesting features. But I can't say I'm a fan of some of its rougher aspects.
Story: Probably the most interesting part of the D-Mod. The author wrote a pretty good backstory for it about alternate universes and aliens. He even incorporated the story into one of the puzzles. And the D-Mod begins with a cutscene, one that can even be skipped. Pretty impressive feature for a D-Mod this early.
Mapping: Not exactly the strongest part, most of the time repetitive, especially the trees. But it is the first to use one of the tiles that I find appealing, the dark forest themed one, which later made it into Snyder's skeleton D-Mod.
Puzzles: I found them to be a mixed bag. The first ones, like using the jug of water and the one giving answers for the backstory are good. The one with the clue, and the way to get the dragon's tooth, while easily missable for some players, are at least solveable if you examine everything. But some of the others... like how was I supposed to know that I have to use the well with the jug for a third time? And how in the world would anyone figure out the music box one?
Graphics: The D-Mod comes with some new graphics. While I feel not all of them fit Dink's world (like the saucers), I appreciate the effort. I think some of them would be useful for D-Mods.
Sound/Music: While there are new MIDI files - some even are even Snyder's originals - I feel like they're not very memorable, average ones. I have to say, while many D-Mods use music from some other old games, and that could be considered lazy, they're often more memorable if the tracks themselves are good, even if not original. The problem is, you can make more effort to compose something original or license tracks that weren't used before for D-Mods, if they're not good and memorable, it kind of feels like a waste. I feel like this is what happened here.
Do I recommend this? It's not a bad D-Mod, but I feel like there are better ones to try. Though I feel like there are some people who might enjoy it. You might find the story inspirational for your own D-Mod, perhaps use some of the graphics. Or you might like the tie-ins with Mike's other D-Mods. Or you just want to try a better early D-Mod. Or maybe it was one of the first of your D-Mod's and you want to go back to it for nostalgia.

This was my very first d-mod to play aside from Mystery Island. Very blanced d-mod, some-what an indirect humor at the begginning lol.

Good
****
A revolutionary d-mod of its time, with 'appalling' graphics and a plot/story of a sort. I really really wanted to see the ending of this too bad we cant . Music was good and I liked the theme of an 'evil dink twin' type... thing.

Bad
***
Alot of running around. Doing stuff that kinda threw me off from what is supposed to be done. Minor hardness errors such as a part of the bridge I got stuck at and i got to walk on the water and couldnt get back on the bridge. it kinda sucked cause i forgot to save and i had to start all over >_<.

Great d-mod overall. i wished the author finished it. really.

Dink's doppleganger is definitely one of the best dmods around. The problem with it is that it's unfinished, and more than that, that it ends very suddenly and you achieve merely anything at the end. There's nothing exactly bad in Dink's doppleganger, yet in some points there's nothing exactly good in it either.

An interestingly different sci/fi twist made this DMOD enjoyable. Although i was disappointed with the end or the incomplete end. Empty space with nothing more than one piece of gold and a house that takes you to a small forest where you become stuck. The parts of the game that were complete were fun but the lack of magic and creature fighting was a negative. I'm sure this DMOD would have revieved a higher score if the author had completed part three.

Yes, this was my first ever DMOD download. And it's got a big map, but unfinished story.

Humour was a bit lacking, and some of the things I had to do drove me mad. Especially the spaceship and the battery thingo.

Graphics: Some new stuff with spaceships and things. Pretty good.

Map: Solid work here. Nothing to complain about in terms of hardness errors.

Gameplay: Some of the things you had to do drove me nuts. Water, jugs... volcanoes. Ah... I think this DMOD probably shaped my unconscious as I seem to have followed a similar path in my own DMODs.

Overall: One of the first epics, give it a go. It's a pretty solid dmod, bug free, just not as funny and entertaining as others.

Like all the others so far, this is the very FIRST dmod I played, and it was a welcome introduction to the Dink community.
The story was weird, but pretty good. I also like the UFO-graphics.
GRAPHICS 8: Way back (1998) the UFO-graphics looked pretty good. There were some other, overall good, graphics too.
SOUND 7: A bit boring, especially in the Land of Boring, haha. New soundeffects were good though.
GAMEPLAY 8.2: VERY solid, no bugs, and I liked the many puzzles in it. I DID get bored in the end tho'.
LASTING APPEAL 7.9: Pretty big, but absolutely NO replay value.
